How to Repair a Broken Window

Whether from a bad storm or a ball thrown by your neighbor's kids, broken window glass is not something to be ignored. It could lead to more problems such as drafts or water seepage that can increase your energy costs.

Depending on the severity of the crack, there are several options to fix it. Here are some suggestions to think about:

Tape

A bit of old-fashioned tape can be used to temporarily repair cracks in your windows. It's simple to use, cheap and effective. Be sure to cover both sides of the crack so that it is as secure as it can be. This will prevent air from getting in which could cause further damage to the glass and even shatters within the window. Clear tape is an excellent option since it looks much more appealing than duct tape and doesn't leave a sticky residue after you remove it.
