Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album is an attempt to return to the classic sextet format, and it was a more consistent, more powerful album with a sharper edge. The edgier sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the development of the group. Bobby Kimball's growing ability to play was evident in the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard work was also more sophisticated, sharper and less akin to earlier efforts.

After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live concert in Amsterdam that was released as a set of two CDs titled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. The group released a brand new studio album a few months after and then embarked on a world tour promote it.
