How a Jaguar Smart Key Works

Jaguar smart key enables you to lock and unlock your vehicle from afar. Like all electronic devices, it's powered by a battery.

Your car might show an increase in the range of signals when your Smart Key battery begins to end up dying. The center for messages may show an alert "SMART-KEY BATTERY LACKS".

Keyless Entry

This feature allows you to enter your Jaguar without digging through your purse or pockets. The system utilizes a proximity sensor to detect the Jaguar Smart Key, which will automatically open your XE. As you approach your vehicle, simply grab the door handle it will open and arm itself automatically. When you leave your vehicle, you can lock it using the door handle or pressing the key fob.

You can also use the Powered Gesture trunk lid feature in your Jaguar XE. This allows you to open the trunk using the swipe of your hand, meaning you can carry luggage, groceries or sporting equipment without needing to reach into your purse or wallet to find the key. This is a wonderful feature for those who carry equipment around Gilbert every day and don't need to reach for their hands.

When you're ready to shut your trunk, simply hold the Activity Key up against it. The hazard light will blink when it's successfully connected.

As opposed to other smart keys the Jaguar Smart Key's battery does not require replacement. However, you might observe that the range of your key fob begins to shrink, and it may not respond to commands immediately. Replace the battery as soon you notice this.
